CyanogenMOD 10 For Walton Primo, Karbonn A5, A7, W25

If you're thinking to upgrade your Walton Primo / Karbonn a5 and Symphony W25 / Karbonn A7 to CyangenMOD 10 (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) then you're reading the right article. All of the users of these phones who upgraded their phone to ICS or Jelly Bean can use CyanogenMOD 10 also.

Requirement for Upgrading Walton Primo / Karbonn A5 and A7 / Symphony W25 to CyanogenMOD

  • Any ICS Baseband (591379_8376_WCDMA_V000003 Recommended)
  • At least 200 MB System Partition
  • Custom CWM Recovery Installed

Download and Flash CyanogenMOD 10 (Jelly Bean 4.1.2) Rom For Primo / Karbonn A5 and A7 / W25

This process will guide you through installation process of CM 10 ROM. In the CWM (Clock work MOD) recovery use Volume up and Volume down button of your phone to navigate and Power button to select.
  1. Download cm10-primo-tuneshub.zip (update_cm10_w619_592zn_0_3_5.zip) and place it on the root of the SD-card.
  2. Now Reboot to Recovery. Means Power off the phone and then press and hold Volume up and Power button till the Red screen comes.
  3. Select Wipe Data / Factory Reset then select Yes.
  4. Now select Install zip from SDcard then select Choose zip from SDcard and choose cm10-primo-tuneshub.zip. Afte that select Yes.
  5. No more steps needed for Walton Primo and Karbonn A5 users. So After successful installation of the ROM select Reboot from the main menu and enjoy.
  6. But Wait...Symphony W25 and Karbonn A7 users. Download this Boot image flasher and repeat step 4. But this time choose cm10-a7-w25-boot.zip. That's all.

Known Bugs Of CM 10 on Walton Primo / Karbonn A5, A7 / Symphony W25

Personally when I upgraded my Walton Primo the only unbearable problem I fetched is "All the lights of the KeyPad never turns off". So for this circumstance battery consumes a little bit faster. And the bad news is I didn't got any solution for this.

Of course as none of the Jelly Bean ROMs of Walton Primo, Karbonn A5, A7 and Symphony W25 has support for video camera. But Still you can capture images. I was never been able to Record a video with my Jelly Bean upgraded phone.

And the another problem that bothered me is "The built-in Portable Hotspot doesn't work" while there is no problem when you get connected with other Hotspots. But if you use some sort of good WiFi tether 3rd party software then it'll work.

Sometimes the system apps loses their user data. Let's say if you change the bluetooth's name then it will work. But if you turn the bluetooth off and turn it on again or you restart your phone then you'll see the changed bluetooth name reverted back to default.

Of course I am not responsible for your fault. If your phone got bricked following this article then it's your responsibility. Who told you to follow this article if you don't know what you're doing? But don't you worry. If it gets bricked then Just leave a comment below with your phone model. I will try to give you the link of a another fresh ROM ( Which can revive your bricked Android phone ).

    I'm using walton primo ics 4.0.4.
    If I install cm and then want to go back to ics stock , what to do then?

      Yes, of course. You can revert back to stock ICS.

      All you need to do is backup your stock ICS rom via recovery. Then follow this article to upgrade to Cyanogen MOD 10.

      Then when you want to use Walton Primo's stock ICS again then simply restore the rom the backed up before.

      I can't install CWM in my Walton Primo(ICS). I tried many ways(cwm auto installer, mobile uncle, mtk droid tools, sp flash) . Can u please tell me detailed process. Or, Please, Write a post on it ASAP

      Is it possible to install cm 10 using stock recovery? I can flash AP. My phone is rooted. And what I fogot to say is, when I install cwm and boot to recovery there is a red screen. No recovery option appeared.

      No it's not possible to install CM 10 using stock recovery. And no recovery option appeared means you're using a inappropriate version of recovery.

      You can Install custom CWM recovery on Walton Primo using Mobile Uncle Tools.

      Download and extract Walton Primo's Custom Recovery and put recovery.img in the root of the SD card. And flash it using Mobile Uncle tools.

      Use third party software to get WiFi hotspot working. And fixing some bugs of this CyanogenMOD rom for your Karbonn a5 is quiet impossible.

      But I don't think there is something wrong with bluetooth.

      First download Primo ICS.rar and you'll get Baseband's BP + ICS AP + PDF guide there. So follow that pdf guide and upgrade Karbonn a7's baseband then follow this article.

      You won't be able to install this custom ROM I guess. This is only for Karbonn a5 and a7.

      Though here is one. Karbonn A2+ Flash file But I am not sure about it. Cause I don't have any Karbonn a2+ to check

      Whatever unfortunately I don't have a Xplorer W30 to build one for you. And of course there is no custom ROM for Symphony W30 which is available in the public internet. So sorry.

      Don't worry bro. That's the available free RAM not total.

      You can use Android Assistant to see the total RAM.

      Of course you can install custom ROMs on your Karbonn Smart A26 but currently there is no available ROMs for your device. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Did you upgraded your baseband? If yes then try searching on Google to get some custom ICS or JB ROM for your A7+. I don't have the device so I am unable to give you some working ROMs list.

      First downgrade the baseband and restore the stock ROM via CWM backup.

      Yes. You can update your Karbonn a25. Download these three parts. Extract them and install via CWM or TWRP recovery.

    Hello bro, I have a walton Primo updated to 4.0.4 and another walton primo with 2.3.6. So can I update my Gingerbread version to Ice cream Sandwich by backuping up 4.0.4 by CWM from latest primo set and restore it to 2.3.6 Version Primo set. Can I do so? If yes,reply soon please :)

      No. Absolutely not. Don't do that. If you do your device will be bricked down.

      First you'll need to upgrade 2.3.6 phone's baseband. Then you can restore the backup.

      You need to recognize the Language & input from settings by icons.

      Then you'll need to tap on first option. then change the language to English.

      And it was your fault. You miss configured the ROM while booting first time.

      No. You'll not be able to use any sort of CyanogenMOD in any MediaTek device like Primo H2

      I know the bug about the hard button LED problem. And I mentioned that in the article before.

      I don't own this phone anymore so I am unable to fix that. Also I am not the developer of this ROM.
